This is an office cabinet whose sides are constructed as gap-forming double walls consisting in each case of an inner side piece and an outer side piece, it being possible for the outer side piece to be connected directly to the inner side piece, that is to say dispensing with the interconnection of a mounting frame. Nevertheless, a gap which is desired for installation and aesthetic reasons is produced in the sides of the office cabinet. Due to the outside cladding of the sides, the mounting slots or similar mounting devices required for mounting shelves can be made directly in the inner side pieces and still remain invisible through the outer side pieces, such that a satisfactory interior design is guaranteed and, furthermore, the office furniture according to the invention is also satisfactory in aesthetic terms in its outer appearance. <IMAGE>
