The invention relates to a hunting projectile for unrifled firearms (shotguns), which can be used for short firing ranges and which has grooves which are positioned obliquely on the jacket of the cylindrical body. The hunting projectile has an opening at the front which tapers conically and from whose lower region tangential holes lead to the cylindrical jacket. The opening continues to run in a central hole of smaller diameter, which extends to the rear surface of the projectile. The torque which is developed by means of the tangential holes corresponds in direction to that which is produced by the obliquely positioned grooves. The hunting projectile consists of the following main parts: body, obliquely positioned grooves, conical opening, tangential holes and central hole.
