The invention relates to an apparatus for holding a peripheral shuttering board (1) of a ceiling shuttering, to be used in the building industry when erecting a building and to be fastened on a building wall (2) in the region of a ceiling (12) to be fabricated. The apparatus is formed by an elongate shuttering-board holder (3) which forms a re-usable unit consisting of structural steel. Said shuttering-board holder is fastened on the building wall (2) in the vertical direction and possesses a fastening part (4) bearing on the wall (2) and a holding part (5) adjoining the fastening part (4). For insertion of the shuttering board (1), the inner side (10), directed towards the bearing surface (8) of the fastening part (4), of said holding part (5) runs outwardly offset in a step-like fashion in parallel with the bearing surface (8) of the fastening part (4) and holds the shuttering board (1) on its outer side. <IMAGE>
