An apparatus for gliding on water, with a pair of ski-like floats, each of which has a foot recess, is characterised in that each float has folding paddles which can be spread open perpendicularly, transversely to the longitudinal direction of the float, which, swinging backwards about a respectively horizontal axis, can be laid against the underside of the float.
