A semipermeable composite membrane comprises a microporous substrate carrying on its surface a semi-permeable membrane consisting of a crosslinked polymer reaction prod. of a mixt. of (a) a water soluble organic polymer with reactive amino gps., (b) a polyamine and (c) a crosslinking agent (I) with a gp. which can react with the reactive gps. of the water soluble organic polymer and with the polyamine, the polyfunctional gp. having reacted with the amino gps. of the organic polymer and with the polyamine and the (I) consisting of a thiadiazole cpd. with at least two reactive gps.
