<p>PURPOSE:To improve the color purity, and to expand a color reproducing range of a color image thereby, by constituting a titled device so that it is provided with a liquid crystal color display panel provided with three primary color filters, and a light transmission plate-shaped member having transmission light wavelength selecting characteristics containing neodymium. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source unit 13 is made incident on a liquid crystal color display panel 9 through a light scattering plate 12 and a polarizing plate 10, and passes through its liquid crystal layer in a state corresponding to a voltage controlled by a supplied image signal. Subsequently, it becoms spectral color light, passes through a polarizing plate 11, and a color image is obtained on the outside surface side of a light transmission plate 16 formed from glass containing neodymium oxide. In this way, three color lights having a comparatively wide transmission light wavelength range, respectively, obtained from color filters formed by coloring matter parts of three primary colors are subjected to absorption based on remarkable absorption characteristics when passing through the light transmission plate 16, and three color lights of red, green and blue which have a comparatively narrow transmission light wavelength on its outside surface side, and are separated from each other are obtained.</p> |
