A structure 7, consisting of at least one fibrous mat and at least one layer of thermoplastic resin, is subjected to a calendering operation between rollers 9, 10, 11 held at a temperature less than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin, then to successive step-wise pressing operations by sequentially passing into a stationary press 3, the continuous platens 17, 19 of which are programmed according to a temperature profile such that the structure is progressively heated up to a temperature above the melting point of the thermoplastic resin and then progressively cooled down to a temperature below the solidification temperature of the thermoplastic resin. The laminated product obtained is very homogeneous and can be thermoformed. <IMAGE>
