<p>The prefabricated element (3a) which, by joining together like elements, permits the construction of a staircase (2a) comprising steps (5) formed by plates (4), as well as a supporting structure, the said staircase being a spiral staircase (2a) and thus winding around a single vertical axis or winding while advancing and/or straight. It is characterised: - in that, in the planes of each of the ends of its framework, this element possesses its two bearing pieces, - in that these bearing pieces project laterally outwards from the framework and create mutually parallel flanges and, - in that at least one of these flanges helps in the construction of a step plate.
