The invention relates to a hydraulic mechanism with undulating cams 4 comprising a distribution face 17 equipped with orifices 23, 24 corresponding to the ramps of the undulations and a cylinder block 9 equipped with orifices 33 for supply/exhaust of the cylinders. The shapes of the cylinder orifices 33 are complementary to those of the orifices 23, 24, the surface area of a cylinder orifice 33 being equal to that of the space delimited between the orifices 23, 24 of the distribution face 17, to within the operational play, allowing the succession, for one cylinder orifice 33, of communication with a first orifice 23, of insulation from the first 23 and the second 24 orifices of a pair of orifices, and of communication with the second orifice 24 of the said pair of orifices.
