The present invention relates to a clamping device, ensuring positioning or shaping, remotely controlled and intended for working metal in sheet form, metal mouldings or any other material to be assembled by welding or bonding or to be machined. The device comprises: a set of clamping heads each composed of a body 1 to be fixed to a support, a pivoting clamping element 2 connected to a carriage 3 by two connecting rods 4; this carriage 3 is equipped with four rollers 5 circulating on two shaping ramps 6. The carriage 3 is securely fastened, with optimum clearance, to an endpiece 7 connected to a flexible link 8, itself connected to a control casing 9 actuated by a jack 10 fixed to a support 11 equipped with guides 12. At the end of the jack rod 13, a barrel 14, equipped with either rigid or frictional stops, is fixed; pre-set slides 16 circulate in these stops. <IMAGE>
