The problem of exactly determining the bodyweight of premature babies, new-born children and infants in the incubator is solved by a weighing system which consists of the combination of an electronic precision balance with a lifting device for incubators, making it possible to weigh the total weight of the incubator together with its contents exactly and afterwards obtain the body weight in a manner capable of being read off directly as a weight difference by lifting the child manually without contact with the incubator.
