The invention relates to a simple method for demodulating an FSK signal, only minor signal distortion occurring. In this method, counting values (Z) are initially formed which correspond to the lengths of half-cycles of the FSK signal. The counting values (Z) are converted into signal bytes which are used to form an output signal (ED). The counting values (Z) are converted into signal bytes by evaluating the counting values (Z) in terms of them exceeding or falling below threshold values for allocation to an assigned frequency (f1, f2), and by establishing the exact changeover time (x) when counting values (Z) occur in an alternating range (WB), i.e. between the threshold values. <IMAGE>
