Metering apparatus for granular bulk material, in which there is provided a counting device (2) which counts the number of grains of a granular bulk material which are conveyed into a distributor device (5), the counting result thus obtained being fed as an actual value to a regulating device (1, 3, 4, 6, 10) which, by means of this actual value and a set desired value, regulates a setting device (6, 7) by means of which the quantity of bulk material to be metered is varied, in such a way that a desired dispensing quantity of grains per m<2> of ground area is dispensed accurately and quickly by the distributor device, this dispensing quantity being independent of the type of grains and of the type of setting device, and by means of the regulating device, which preferably has a process computer (1), a possibility of variable setting to an exact number of dispensed grains per m<2> is possible, for example also during ground cultivation with a seed drill in which the metering apparatus according to the invention is located. <IMAGE>
