In a film cassette for a photographic still camera for holding the exposed part of the film with a film channel which is curved in a U shape and a dividing web with a deflection edge it is proposed that the film channel be constructed narrowed in the region of the film perforation with respect to the recording area by means of spacing strips which are formed onto the channel walls and onto the separating web, and the separating web is shortened at the deflection edge in the region between the ends of the spacing strips by means of an opening in order to avoid pressure exposures and scratches in the region of the image. Furthermore, it is proposed, in order to avoid inverted insertion, to construct the cross-section of the mouth of the cassette, viewed in the insertion direction, asymmetrically with respect to at least one axis and to provide it with an indicator (AZS) which changes its indicator state when the cassette is inserted into the camera. As a result, it becomes possible to use the cassette according to the invention also as a combined supply cassette/recording cassette. <IMAGE>
