<p>A lure depth control, used primarily for trolling, for an outrigger (40) of the type having a base (42), a boom (48) including a fixed member (47) engaging the base (42) and a rotatable member (49) carrying a pulley (45), and a reel (41) carrying a cable (43) strung over the pulley (45). The lure depth control includes a vane-like first marker (20) which is secured to the fixed member (47) of the boom (48) and a second marker (30), also vane-like, which is secured to the rotatable member (49) of the boom (48). The first marker (20) preferably carries a spirit level (50) for leveling relative to earth and the second marker (30) carries indicia (33), which may be in the form of straight lines sloped relative to one another about the longitudinal axis of the boom, indicating, relative to the fixed first marker (20), percentage increase in length of sloping cable needed to reach a known vertical depth. </p> |
