A bending apparatus, especially for bending the wire ends of components. Said apparatus consists of two bending jaws having guides which can be clamped onto the measurement arm of a sliding calliper. The outer edges of the bending jaws are installed such that they always produce the size, for example, of the hole measurement limbs, which size can also be read off and set precisely on the scale of the sliding callipers. A centring hole and a longitudinal slit in the baseplate ensure that the bending jaws are guided accurately in a straight line when the sliding callipers are adjusted. An adjustable-height stop which is provided makes it possible to bend the conductors of a component when the bending jaws are rotated. An attachment which is provided on the bending jaws prevents inadvertent longitudinal displacement of the bending jaws. A pointer is used for precisely maintaining the distance of the wire bend from the winding. The V-cut-outs which are provided in the bending jaws have chamfers on the bending side whose radius increases from bottom to top corresponding precisely to the increase in the wire diameter from the bottom to the top in the V-cut-outs. In consequence, the radius of the bend automatically corresponds to the wire diameter.
