In order to fit annular cores (Rk) with wire (D), two loops (S1, S2) are initially looped around the cross-section of the annular core (Rk), whereupon the second loop (S2) is pulled out in such a manner that the first loop (S1) is placed around the cross-section of the annular core (Rk) as the first turn. Further loops are formed and pulled out in a corresponding manner until the annular winding has been completed, in such a manner that the preceding loop in each case is placed around the cross-section of the annular core (Rk) as a turn. Since all the loops (S1, S2...) are initially of the same length, the formation of the loops can be carried out via a lower wire guide (Du), an upper wire guide (Do) and suitable wire feed devices (Dvs1, Dvs2, Dvs3), automatically. The winding of the annular cores (Rk) with strong wire can be carried out in its entirety automatically, without any residual hole in the annular windings. <IMAGE>
