The invention describes a device for setting pre-formed terminal pins, with pressed-on end sections, and joined integrally in the form of feeder strips (14), into a work-piece (10), with a gripping device to push the strip forwards step by step, and a stamp (20), arranged at right angles to the transport device, to separate the terminal pin which is respectively at the front. It is essential that the gripping device (42, 35) is formed so as to push the strip (14) forwards parallel to the surface of the work-piece as far as the limit stop (51), whereas the stamp can be moved at right angles to the surface of the work-piece. As it moves downwards, the stamp breaks off a terminal pin, and then carries it along in a stamped groove (57), which is on its lower rearward-facing end, and projects from the front side by the set height. The essential advantage is that the stamp (20) carries out a double function, that is the functions of both a separating tool and a setting tool. <IMAGE>
