PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system which selectively executes a parallel connection mode for supplying electric power to a load circuit (an inverter) with two DC power supplies (storage batteries) connected in parallel to each other and a series connection mode for supplying electric power to the load circuit with the two DC power supplies connected in series to each other and which, when a switching failure occurs while a specific switching element is conducting, detects occurrence of the failure.SOLUTION: The power supply system controls, when one switching element to be detected is failed, the other switching elements so that a specific closed circuit is formed, and detects occurrence of the failure of the specific switching element on the basis of a change in a voltage across terminals of a capacitor provided at the power supply system, which appears when the closed circuit is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
