<p>An automatic film processor (20) with built-in self-cleaning, utilizing an automatic cycle timer (120) to control the overall sequential cleaning cycle of the film processor (20). The cycle timer (120) and solenoid operated drain valves (60, 62, 64), circulate, refill, and run the film processor through a series of sequential cleaning events involving the drainage of the developer and fixer compartments (24, 26), the filling up of these compartments with cold tap water, activating the transport racks (34) and rotating the transport rollers (36), pumping and warming the water throughout the circulation system, draining the developer and fixer compartments (24, 26) of the rinse water, refilling the developer and fixer compartments (24, 26) with fresh chemical solutions from containers (100, 108) located externally from the film processor (20), refilling the wash water compartment (28) and allowing the wash water to overflow in order to flush the exhausted chemicals away from the film processor (20).</p> |
