To produce non-shedding wadding pads which nonetheless should possess high absorbency and softness, it is proposed to adhere the fibres to one another using a binder uniformly distributed over the volume of the wadding swab. This is achieved by a process wherein the carded sheet of wadding, consisting of cotton and cellulose staple fibres, is treated with a binder, for example self-crosslinking acrylic resins, in foam form, and, after the subsequent drying, the wadding pads are blanked out. <IMAGE> |
