Provided is a coating composition for a transparent electrode protection layer. The coating composition comprises: metal oxide; and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and tetraethylene glycol. When applied to a transparent electrode, a protection layer formed by using the coating composition for a transparent electrode protection layer maintains transmittance of the transparent electrode while securing heat resistance and durability. Particularly, the coating composition for a transparent electrode protection layer exhibits excellent hardness.
