A wall light for the indirect illumination of a space has a frame (12) which bears a housing (17), a light source (13), a reflector (14) and a mains device (16). The frame forms a unit which can be mounted independently on a wall (11). The casing (17) of the housing can be fixed securely to the frame (12) in a detachable fashion using attachment elements (63, 73). This structure is easy to mount at the place of use and makes repair work on the mains device easier.
