The vacuum drying equipment is for vegetable material (15), having a closed vacuum tank (1) containing the latter. A heat-exchanger (3) in the tank brings the fluid in the material to boiling point. The steam thus generated is condensed (4) in a further exchanger (4). The two exchangers are connected via a heat-pump (2), recovering the greater part of the evaporation energy, which is returned to the material. An exhauster (5) can be used to reduce pressure in the tank and thus the boiling point. USE - For animal fodder, with low operating cost and nutrient loss. |
