PURPOSE:To improve controllability and maneuverability of a four-wheel drive car at the same time by disengageably interconnecting selectively an input shaft or intermediate shaft and a front wheel side propeller shaft or rear wheel side propeller shaft through an engaging means according to the load shift of vehicle or the like. CONSTITUTION:Operating chambers 7, 9 sealing viscous fluid is provided between opposed peripheral surfaces of an input shaft 1 and an intermediate shaft 2. The operating chambers 7, 9 are provided respectively with a plurality of resistance plates 25a, 25b engaging respectively the opposed peripheral surfaces of shafts 1, 2. Also, are provided front and rear wheel side propeller shafts 3 and 4 engaging disengageably the input shaft 1 or intermediate shaft 2. Further, are provided engaging means 33a, 33b for selectively disengageably connecting the input shaft 1 or intermediate shaft 2 to the front wheel side propeller shaft 3 or rear wheel side one 4. By this constitution can be improved the controllability and maneuverability of a four-wheel drive car.
