PURPOSE:To form a good PWM waveform pattern, by changing an output port according to a preset timer value. CONSTITUTION:The PWM control unit of an inverter is provided with a micro- processor changing port output according to a preset timer value, and an output frequency setting unit. In memory 4, command to execute for the respective terminals of the output port of the micro-processor, and its time are stored at the same time. A timer 5 always counts up, and a time comparator 6 always compares the value of the timer 5 with the value of the timer in the memory. Then, the output of a value at the time of the coincidence is directed to an instruction decoder 7, and the output of each terminal of the output port corresponding to the content is changed. Then, if the command and timer value is kept stored in the memory 4 before a time when the output of the output port is desired to be changed, the output of the output port is changed by its instruction according to the time.
