PURPOSE:To measure wind velocity and wind direction with high accuracy, by arranging a distribution plate between the anemometers mounted to the upper and lower parts of a rotary support. CONSTITUTION:Cup-type anemometers 3, 4 are mounted to the upper part P and lower part Q of a rotary support 1 and a distribution plate 5 for distributing wind upwardly and downwardly is arranged between the anemometers 3, 4. Now, when wind blows in a horizontal direction A, the anemometer 3 at the upper part P rotates in an R- direction and the anemometer 4 at the lower part Q rotates in an S-direction and the respective wind velocities are recorded on a recorder 9. When wind is blown down in a B-direction, the anemometer 3 rotates in the R-direction at a high speed and blow-down wind velocity is recorded on the recorder 9. Since a part of the blown-down wind collides with the distribution plate 5 to be diffused, said wind does not function as acting force for positively rotating the anemometer 4. Therefore, recording as blow-down wind velocity is not performed on the recorder 9. When wind is blown up in a C-direction, in contrast with the case of blowing-down, the wind velocity due to the anemometer 4 is recorded but the wind velocity due to the anemometer 3 is not recorded. Therefore, horizontal, blowing-down and blowing-up wind velocities can be measured with high accuracy.
