PURPOSE:To facilitate inspection, by catching the region to be measured set on the inside surface of a container as an image by the TV camera equipped with a wide angle lens fixedly provided outside the container through an opening part and taking out the inspection signal corresponding to the region to be measured from an image signal. CONSTITUTION:Four TV cameras 13a, 13b, 13c, 13d, a stroboscope 15 and a reflecting plate 16 are provided directly above the cylindrical container 11 fed on an inspection line while the opening part 11a thereof is turned upwardly. The cameras 13a-13d divide the inner peripheral surface 11b of the container 11 into four stages of regions to be measured in the depth direction of said container 1 and are set so as to respectively obtain images having the same dimension. An effective inspection signals are taken out from image signals through the windows set so as to correspond to the regions to be measured and four stages of the measuring results are totalized to display the operation result on CRT. Therefore, even when the opening area of the container is small or the container has a deep bottom, the inner surface of the container can be easily inspected at a high speed.
