PURPOSE:To restrain disorder of an image due to malfunction of an address counter, by providing an address signal generation circuit which generates an address signal and a control means which controls an address operation of write or read based on this address signal. CONSTITUTION:An address signal generation circuit 3 operates a base address value each line addording to a bit number in a main scanning direction corresponding to a maximum recording size or a recording execution size and a line number in a subsidiary scanning direction. By cou-nting a clock signal taking this base address value as an initial value, an address signal is generated. As a result, even though this address signal is miscounted, its influence is restricted to said line, and the decrease of image quality of a recording image taken following a serial data of a buffer memory 2 which is controlled in a control part 15 based on this address signal is restrained.
