PURPOSE:To make data input work efficient by predicting the whole image of data to be inputted from a part of input data. CONSTITUTION:Alphabets 'A', 'D' e.g., are successively inputted from a keyboard 1. A control program 2 regards 'AD' as data for predicting the whole image of the data based on a previously determined key input. Then, the program retrieves data, e.g., 'ADD' and 'ADDRESS', having 'AD' as a part of the data out of data registered in a storage device 3 and displays the retrieved data on a display 4. When the data aimed by a user are 'ADDRESS', 'ADDRESS' displayed on a display 4 is selected. The control program 2 decides the contents of the display as the data inputted from the keyboard 1.
