PURPOSE:To improve a packet processing capacity by providing two control parts of a memory part for control and a memory part for data and two buses of a bus for control and a bus for data transfer and executing a switching processing and a data transmitting in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A packet switching equipment 11 is composed of a central control part 12, a program necessary to execute a switching processing, a memory part 13 for control to store information, a memory part 14 for data to store temporarily transmission/reception data, line control parts 15-1-15-n, a bus 16 for control and a bus 17 for data transfer. The reception data from a subscriber terminal 18-1, after the error compensation by a transmission control procedure is executed with the line control part 15-1, are written through the bus 17 directly to the memory part 14 and the reception of the data is informed from a line control part to the central control part 12. The central control part 12 to receive the information reads the station information and subscriber information stored into the header part of the reception data stored into the memory part 14 and the memory part 13 through the bus 16 in accordance with the program stored in the memory part 13 and determines the subscriber terminal of the sending destination of the reception data based on this.
