The screen consists of longitudinal blades and transverse blades (2). Over their height, the transverse blades (2) have sections (4) that are wedge shaped or stepped in a prismatic fashion. In order to join the longitudinal blade and transverse blade (2), the former is provided with cutouts into which the transverse blades (2) project. Each transverse blade (2) has at its end in each case a groove (7), which extends in a manner corresponding to the cross-section of the longitudinal blade and into which the edge of the cutout of the longitudinal blade projects. The base of the groove has perforations (8) which are situated in the region of the meeting point of adjacent sections (4) and in this arrangement the webs (9) forming the base of the groove (8) are essentially parallel to the areas of the sections (4) adjoining them laterally. Consequently, the formation of a gap at the junction between the transverse and longitudinal blades is avoided.
