CONSTITUTION:When an error is detected at an m-th error detection circuit m07, a corresponding m-th relay m08 makes a contact, and the error of a signal passing through a spare code conversion circuit Y06 is measured at a spare error detection circuit Y07. When no error is detected at the spare error detection circuit Y07, it is decided as the fault of a code conversion circuit m06 in use. And a selection circuit m09 selects and outputs an output on the spare side, and when the error is also detected at the spare error detection circuit Y07, it is decided as the fault of the transmission line or an opposite device. As a result, the relay m08 breaks the contact, then, a state is returned to its original state.
