PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently execute the copy of the original of plural colors by constituting an original reading lens, a micro-prism plate to separate an original reading light flux, plural filters having different spectral transmitting characteristic and respective linear image sensors to receive light passing through these respective filters. CONSTITUTION:After a micro-prism plate 3 directly passes an original scanning image light or through an original reading lens 2, the image light is divided to plural light and then by passing the light through respective filters 5 and 6 and receiving it by respective linear image sensors 7 and 8, colors used in the original and the area can be detectable. Accordingly, the colors of the original and the area can be recognized beforehand. Thus, at the time of copying, the setting of the using area of respective developing devices needs no assistance and the copying is facilitated.
