PURPOSE:To transfer ink reliably even at a low printing speed, by extending a portion of heat radiation board in a thermal head to the downstream of printing position in recording paper feeding direction and pressure contacting the printing paper wherein ink has been transferred and an ink donor film with the heat radiation board. CONSTITUTION:A portion of a heat radiation board 21 supporting a thermal head 6 is extending to the downstream of a printing position 7 in feeding direction of a recording paper 4 and forming an extended section 21a. A press roller 22 is pressed through the recording paper 4 and an ink donor film 1 against the extended section 21a. The recording paper 4 and the ink donor film 1 printed at the printing position 7 is pressed by the press roller 22 at the extended section 21a of the heat radiation board 21, and the built-up heat in the heat radiation board 21 is utilized for promoting transfer of ink. Consequently, ink can be transferred from the ink donor film 1 to the recording paper 4 reliably even at a low printing speed.
