PURPOSE:To simplify constitution, by a method wherein an elevating body is elevatably situated to the under surface of an endless belt making contact with the under surface of a roller to drive rollers, and the upper and the lower end of the elevating body are vertically moved through a press body vertically moved by means of a pneumatic actuator. CONSTITUTION:If the state of a conveyor on the downstream side is transferrable, compressed air is fed to a pneumatic actuator 11 of a power connecting disconnecting device 6 at the discharge end part of a conveyor 1 to reduce the longitudinal distance of the actuator 11. Thus, press bodies 10 and 10 at the front and the rear part are rotated upward around a shaft 9, and an elevating body 8 is pushed upward by means of a press roller 16. Thus, an endless belt 5 is pressed against the under surface of a carrier roller 3, and the carrier roller 3 is rotationally driven to convey a cargo. When the conveyance is completed, compressed air is bled from the actuator 11, the elevating body 8 is lowered, and the carrier roller 3 is stopped. A similar motion is effected in a next section. This constitution enables simplification of constitution.
