PURPOSE:To provide possibility of using a soda glass base board, which is very cheap, by putting a light emitting mother material and a substance containing light emitting center in respective crucibles, allowing the light emitting layer to undergo vacuum evaporation under control of evaporating speeds individually, and performing a heat treatment at a temp. below 380 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A thin film EL display panel is manufactured, in which a soda glass is used as base board 11, and a light emitting layer 14 and one or more insulation layers 13, 15 are interposed between electrodes 12, 16, either of which at least has light penetrating property. Here a light emitting mother material and a substance containing light emitting center are put in respective crucibles, and the light emitting layer 14 undergoes vacuum evaporation while the evaporating speeds are controlled individually, and heat treatment is performed at a temp. below 380 deg.C. When the processing temp. is low in the process as in this case, there is no drop of the light emitting characteristic, which should enable to offer a base board 11 from a very cheap soda glass.
