PURPOSE:To manufacture Al-alloy foil minimal in pinholes and excellent in strength after annealing and degreasing, by subjecting a metal plate of an Al-base alloy containing specific amounts of Mn to cold rolling and foil annealing under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:An ingot of an Al alloy containing 0.05-0.8wt.% Mn is subjected to homogenizing treatment and then hot-rolled into a metal plate. This metal plate of Al alloy is cold-rolled at >=50% draft, and the resulting sheet metal is subjected to foil annealing at 340-450 deg.C and further, if necessary, to cold rolling so as to be formed into Al-alloy foil of 0.3-1.0mm thickness. In this way, the Al-alloy foil excellent in strength after annealing and degreasing and suitable for Al foil for various packages and Al foil for film capacitor can be obtained without deteriorating rollability and pinhole characteristic.
