PURPOSE:To provide a grinding aid for Portland cement and or blast furnace slag, which aid is improved in grinding efficiency, suppresses dusting characteristics, is not strictly limited in amt. of addition and yields good-quality concrete by consisting said aid of a sulfonated amino resin. CONSTITUTION:The sulfonated amino resin as the above-mentioned grinding aid is formed by synthesizing an amino group-contg. material essentially consisting of melamine at ratios of 0.9-1.1mol. HCHO and 0.3-0.4mol. sulfite per 1mol. amino group in an aq. medium. The resulted aq. soln. is widely used as a high-performance water-reducing admixture in concrete field. An aq. soln. of the sulfonated amino resin in used as the above-mentioned grinding aid in this invention. This grinding aid gives no troubles even when used in excess; in addition, said aid is the aq. soln. stable for a long period of time, is nontoxic and poses no problems in handling.
