PURPOSE:To certainly feed a cross bar even when the diameter thereof changes and to always position the same at a constant position, by allowing the leading end of the pawl of a feed mechanism to face to the proper position between cross bars in accordance with the thickness of the cross bar. CONSTITUTION:When the cross bar H of an engaging piece is driven and a bell crank 13 is revolved, a slide main body 14 is ready to move upwardly but a toggle link 16 is bent in the direction spaced apart from the cross bar H of an engaging piece group F by the snapping force of a brake spring 21. A pawl 17 is separated from the cross bar and the toggle link 16 is prevented from bending further. When a slide link 15 is further pushed upwardly, the slide main body 14 moves upwardly. A drive arm 4 is retracted by releasing a grip 2 and a connecting bar 12 is transferred to the right by the action of a leaf spring 22 and the bell crank 13 revolves counterclockwise. With this revolution, the slide link is ready to also move downwardly but the bent toggle link 16 extends at first and the pawl 17 forcibly penetrates between the cross bars H. Even when the thickness of the cross bar slightly changes, the cross bar H can be certainly guided into a guide needle 10.
