PURPOSE:To improve temperature detecting precision, by a method wherein the speed of an indoor fan is transmitted in two stages by means of a detecting temperature by a temperature detecting means to detect an air temperature on the indoor side and a discriminating means to compare the detecting temperature with and from a set temperature. CONSTITUTION:Operation is started in air circulation mode, a fan motor 3 is run at a lowest speed, and an indoor unit 11 is brought into a superbreeze operation state. A room temperature (t) is detected by a room temperature detecting means 4, and a set temperature t1 set by a set temperature memory means 5 is compared with the detecting temperature (t) by a room temperature discriminating means 6. In this case, in the case of t < t1, a state before that is held, and in the case of t > t1, the indoor unit 11 is brought into a breeze operation state. The room temperature (t) is detected again and is compared and discriminated with and from the set temperature t1. In the case of t > t1, a state before that is held, and in the case of t < t1, the indoor unit is brought into a superbreeze operation state again. The above motions are repeated until operation. This constitution enables normal detection of the temperature of the indoor unit 11.
