PURPOSE:To realize functions as a noise reduction circuit, a fixed delay element and a variable delay element by means of a field memory used in common by using the field memory as the noise reduction circuit (NR), as the fixed delay element at dropout compensation and the variable delay element at the CLV special reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The field memory 17 acts like a 262H delay circuit at the normal reproduction to constitute a noise reduction circuit (NR) utilizing the field correlation. A reproduced video signal is replaced into a video signal read from the memory 17 when a dropout takes place in the reproducing signal to apply dropout compensation. On the other hand, write is applied to the field memory synchronously with a discontinuous video signal subject to time axis correction while being read from a disk of the special reproduction of a CLV disk and the readout is applied in matching with the timing of a synchronizing signal whose phase is continuous generated by a synchronizing generator 23 to allow the field memory to make the discontinuous video signal continuous.
