PURPOSE:To simplify a measuring system, and to contrive to miniaturize a detector and to make it light in weight, by varying a level of a variable discriminator, and executing an arithmetic processing of an integral spectrum of a pulse counter output obtaining like a time series. CONSTITUTION:To a semiconductor radiation sensor 3 consisting of a semiconductor crystal 1 and an amplifier 2, a variable discriminator 4 and a pulse counter 5 are connected in series. In this state, a discrimination level of the variable discriminator 4 is varied in response to time, and the pulse counter 5 is operated by a prescribed sampling time. An output of the pulse counter 5 can be obtained as an integral spectrum of the radiation intensity like a time series. It is stored in a memory 6 like a time series, and brought to a differential processing by a computing element 7. In such a way, a radiation intensity spectrum corresponding to the incident radiation intensity is obtained. A resolution of this spectrum can be improved easily by shortening the sampling time, that is, increasing the number of samplings.
