PURPOSE:To communicate with an arbitrary opponent by a server even in operating a system, by registering the address of a communication opponent with whom the server can communicate in the table of the server. CONSTITUTION:The server 1 sends a connection request to a controller 3 in another group designated by a keyboard 101 or a floppy disk 102 in operating the system. The controller 3 receives the connection request, and responds the feasibility of communication by designating a device address. Thereby, the server 1 registers the address on an address table 13. Since the server 1, after completing the registration of the address, can communicate with the controller 3 immediately by using a designated device address, it is possible to perform the communication freely with another work station group by selecting the arbitrary opponent by the server 1.
