PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain such a plug contact as being uniform in its quality with high rigidity and economical with its low cost by applying a rolling process to a part of wire material so as to modify the rolled part in regular size and forming a press-fitting part through a process of bending the part in a U shape. CONSTITUTION:In order to manufacture a plug contact 1, a rolling process is applied to a part of wire material to form a rolled part 3 and a trimming process is applied thereto for removing an useless outer edge 4 as well as modifying the rolled part 3 in regular sizes. Thereafter, the trimmed rolled part 3' is bent in an approximate U shape to be formed in a press-fitting part 7'. Since a part of wire material is rolled to be formed in the rolled part 3 from which the press-fitting part 7' is formed and only pressing process is required therefor, a high speed continuous work is available resulting in a low cost. Furthermore, owing to the ready formed press-fitting part 7', a process for connecting it to an electric wire 9 can be also achieved by the pressing process which allows a high speed continuous work together with uniform quality of the product not depending upon the skill of workers.
