PURPOSE:To easily produce a hologram film for transfer and sticking by exposing and developing a photosensitive material layer consisting of a vinyl carbazole polymer on a transparent substrate, then stripping the substrate in water or a prescribed solvent. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material layer essentially consisting of the vinyl carbazole polymer is laminated on the transparent substrate consisting of, for example, glass, polyethylene, etc. This photosensitive material layer is exposed by a coherent laser consisting of object light and reference light and is developed to form the hologram image of a volume phase type. The film recorded with the hologram image is thereafter stripped from the transparent substrate by immersing the substrate into water or a low boiling org. solvent. This film is laminated on a suitable base material. The hologram film which can impart the holographic image to paper, metals, plastic, etc., with the simple operation of transfer and sticking is, therefore, easily produced.
