PURPOSE:To compare an arbitrary number of bits by a small number of elements by providing a means for turning on and off a signal transfer line in accordance with the coincidence and the discrepancy of a signal. CONSTITUTION:To a signal transfer line 5, a comparing block 1 is connected in accordance with the number of bits to be compared. The comparing block 1 is constituted of an E-OR gate 2 for detecting the coincidence/discrepancy of two bits Bi, Ai to be compared, a NAND gate 3 which an output of the gate 2 and a control clock signal CMPLCK have been applied, a NOR gate 4 which an output of the gate 3 and one bit signal Bi have been applied, an N channel MOS 6 provided between the signal transfer line 5 and a ground, which an output of said gate 4 has been applied to the gate, and a MOS 7 provided between the line 5 and the line 5 of the pre-stage, which the output of the gate 3 has been applied. When a control signal E is '1', B>=A is detected, and when E is '0', B>A is detected, and both outputs OUT go to '1'.
