PURPOSE:To make a line short and compact and to improve an operating efficiency by arranging a group of tension bridle rolls on an input side and the output side at a tension leveler vertically at the same place. CONSTITUTION:Each roll 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b of groups 1 and 2 of tension bridle rolls for the input side and the output side is rotated by the drive of a motor. Strips 3 of steel sheet, etc., enters and passes a group 1 of tension bridle rolls for the input side at a point A. Then, when they advance as far as a roll 7 for changing the direction supported by a rest 11 so that it can race freely, their advancing direction is changed by this roll 7 to the opposite one to pass a non-drive tension leveler body 4. Then they pass the group 2 of tension bridle rolls for the output side lying under the group 1 of tension bridle rolls for the input side and advances to the next process from a point B. A set of tension leveler apparatuses is mounted compactly on a single rest, and assembly and arrangement are performed off line and the operating efficiency is improved.
