PURPOSE:To improve the operation margin by adding a signal line through which a characteristic of the inside of a disk enclosure is identified. CONSTITUTION:Parts A, B are provided to projections 4, 5 of a flexible cable 1 respectively and the wiring is provided so that the circuit of the parts A, B is opened by removing the projections 4, 5. A part 3 with a magnetic head control IC 6 of the flexible cable 1 mounted thereupon and the projections 4, 5 provided thereupon is provided in the disk enclosure and a connector 2 is connected to an electronic circuit board for signal processing at the outside of the disk enclosure having a microprocessor 14. Then the cut-off/non-cut-off of the projections 4, 5 is set depending on the kinds of the disk enclosure. Thus, the kinds of the disk enclosure is identified depending on the switching state of the parts A, B and the control optimum to the disk enclosure to be connected is applied.
