The device described has microprocessor-actuated semi-conductor switches associated with heat plugs, and at least one precision resistor. The device is characterized in that the microprocessor (17) is so designed that the heat plugs (RK) can be switched on and/or off in rapid sequence such that the increase or decrease in current is practically continuous, and/or that, in order to detect a break or short-circuit in one of them, the heat plugs (RK) are actuated successively in any desired time-interval for a very brief time, preferably 1 ms, and that the current flowing through the heat plugs (RK) is detected by a precision resistor (R), and/or that the actuation of one or several heat plugs (RK) is effected simultaneously with the occurrence of a high-energy excess voltage in the power supply of the device. |
